It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joseph Turner Cathey Jr. (Waynesville, North Carolina), who passed away on October 4, 2022, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Turner and Sarah Jane Walker Cathey. He is survived by: his children, Lenora Cathey-Bell (Lee) of Dallas, Texas and Joseph Turner Cathey, III (Tara Morgan Cathey) of Waynesville; his significant other Lou Boyd Adcock; his siblings, Katy Cathey Bolton (William), Clayton Mark Cathey (Grace Ullrich Cathey) of Waynesville, Samuel Richard Cathey (Susan Jones Cathey) of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Leonard Clayton Bell and Ashe Morgan Cathey; and also, Walker Clark Bell and Mary Cathey Hawkins. He is also survived by three grandsons.
