It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Shaw McGirt Jr. of Waynesville, North Carolina, who passed away on December 6, 2022, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Shaw McGirt, Sr. and Golda Cline McGirt; his wife Margaret Noland McGirt; and his brother Harris McGirt. He is survived by: his sons, John "Jack" McGirt, III of Waynesville and Hugh Noland McGirt (Sheila); and his grandchildren, Hugh Noland McGirt, II and Katie Marie McGirt.
