We are sad to announce that on August 11, 2023, at the age of 91, Helen Sanders Howey in Waynesville, North Carolina, born in Charlotte, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Dudley and Helen Boykin Sanders; her former husband George McCollum Howey; and her brothers-in-law, Michael Newman, Ralph Howey (Depee Howey) and Eddie Howey (Libby Howey).
She is survived by: her husband Mack; her daughters, Elizabeth Howey Pressley (Tom) and Allison Howey Francis (Jay); her grandchildren, Hank, John Dudley Rayman (Elizabeth) and Helen Howey Brakebill (Jock); her great grandchildren, Jackson and Mack; and her sister Tog Newman. She is also survived by seven nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Helen's honor to Grace Church in the Mountains, 394 N. Haywood St. Waynesville, NC 28786.
