He was predeceased by: his siblings, Eddie "Mickey" Poplin, Marilyn Jeane Poplin and Patty Sue Poplin. He is survived by: his wife Beverly Hinson Poplin of Waynesville; his children, Gary Gene Poplin Jr. of Albemarle and April Dawn Poplin Plowman (Kenton) of Waynesville; his sister Lori Anne Poplin Hatley of Norwood; and his grandchildren, Kaley Dawn Plowman, Kegan Drake Plowman and Briana Perdue.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Stanly Funeral & Cremation Care - Albemarle (1835 Badin Rd, Albemarle, NC 28001). Visitation was held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
