It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Eugene Roberts Harpe of Waynesville, North Carolina, born in Wilmington, North Carolina, who passed away on May 2, 2022, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lafayette C. Harpe and Sara Lovelace Harpe; his wife Margot Hocking Harpe; his son Stuart Harpe; and his granddaughter Paige Harpe.
He is survived by: his children, Lindy Harpe (Rob Moore) of Camden and Stephen Harpe (Sherry) of Waynesville; his grandchildren, Stephanie Harpe of Asheville, Maggie Gibbons Cannon (Mac) of Mount Pleasant and Graham Gibbons (Marcia) of Charleston; and his great grandchildren, Kai Sabian Gold and Margaret Mills Cannon.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Waynesville, building fund, 305 N. Main Street, Waynesville, NC 28786 or a charity of ones choosing.
