She was predeceased by: her parents, George Nelson and Edna Long Israel; her husband Charles Cope; and her son Chadwick David Underwood. She is survived by: her daughters, Sarah Beth Underwood of Asheville and Theresa Ann Haynes (Charles) of Memphis, TN; her brother Melvin "John" Israel of Waynesville; and also Kevin Harvey. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
