He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Stephens and Lettie Estelle Fore Stephens; his sister Nina Stephens Ledford; and his daughter-in-law Donna Woodard Stephens. He is survived by: his wife Mary Joyce Smith Stephens; his sons, Tommy Stephens (Vangie Wolfe Stephens) and Ricky Gregory Stephens (late Donna); his grandsons, Brandon of Cherokee, Jake (Ahlisha Littlejohn Stephens) of Cherokee and Victory Gregory Stephens of Waynesville; his great grandchildren, Kaden and Carter; and his sister Patricia Tuller of Sylva.
In lieu of flowers and cards, Earl's wishes are for donations to be made to the Saint Jude's Children's Hospital, which was one of his favorite charities or to a favorite charity in his name.
