He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Cogdill and Francis Flemming Cogdill; and his siblings, Ethel Matney, Agnes Moody, Mary Alice Nelson and James Cogdill.
He is survived by: his wife Doris Palmer Cogdill; his children, Danny Cogdill, Diana Gates (Marlow) of Sandy Mush, Cicely Leatherwood (Jacob) of Canton and Danita Cogdill (Stanley Hannah) of Waterville, NC.; his grandchildren, Alexis Cogdill, Corbin, Jayton Gates, Zachary Cogdill and Isaiah Leatherwood; his pet Lily; and his siblings, Lucille Smith and Robert Cogdill (Mary).
