He was predeceased by: his parents, Hayden Pitts and Betty Pitts; his sister Renee Pitts; his brother-in-law David Payne; his sister Nancy Collins; and his niece Lisa Collins-Stophel.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Plemmons Pitts of Hickory, NC; his daughter Julie; his son-in-law Gary Harding of Hickory, NC; his grandchildren, Sarah Harding of Hickory, NC, Nick Harding of Hickory, NC and Emma Harding of Hickory, NC; his sisters, Betsy Payne of Boone, NC and Lynn Lawrence; his brothers-in-law, JB of Blowing Rock, NC and Tom Collins of Blowing Rock, NC; his brother Michael "Mikey" Pitts of Wilkesboro, NC; and his siblings-in-law, Eddie and Gina Plemmons of Spring Creek. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and wonderful friends.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in Butch's honor can be made for a playground set for his special needs brother, Mikey, whom he loved dearly.
