“I met Charles in 2019 or 2020 when he had a table at the SMEC in Waynesville selling his book. I didn't have the money with me, but he signed it anyway and waited for me to come back. He told me I was an American who loved her country and supported her veterans. I am reading the book now, finally! I wanted to tell him how much I am enjoying it, about halfway through..I am SO sad to hear of his loss. 74 years old is too soon for this interesting man who sacrificed so much for his country!”
