With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Betsy Whitner Shelton of Waynesville, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 10, 2024 at the age of 74. Though Betsy Whitner may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Betsy Whitner touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ray Whitner and Mary Henson Whitner; and her husband Joe Shelton. She is survived by: her sons, Jonathan Shelton (Somer) and Joseph Shelton (Lindsey); her brother Ben Ray Whitner (Annie); and her granddaughters, Lilly, Alli Jo, Raylee and Emery Shelton.
A memorial service was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Wells Funeral Home - Waynesville (296 N Main St, Waynesville, NC 28786). Visitation was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location.
