Altha Roberta Smith Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Altha Roberta Smith (Waynesville, North Carolina), who passed away on January 29, 2025, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, William Bryan Plemmons and Martha Roberta Mull Plemmons; her husband Robert Lee Smith; her son Thomas Eugene Smith (Martha "Marty" Smith); her children-in-law, Martha "Jane" Smith, Robin Cogburn Smith and Gerald Harvey Whent; and her siblings, Lucille Wood, Maggie Mills, Houston Plemmons, Bill Plemmons, Jim Plemmons, George Plemmons and Doyle Plemmons.
She is survived by: her children, Robert "Bob" Smith Jr., Harold "Dean" Smith, Revonda Stamey, Kathy Whent and Charles Phillip Smith; and her grandchildren, Tammy, Robin, Charles Allen, Jackie, Christy, Anthony, Carrie, Miranda, Megan, Tamara, Jennifer and Daniel.
Visitation was held on Sunday, February 2nd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Beth Eden Baptist Church. A funeral service was held on Sunday, February 2nd 2025 from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM at the same location.
Altha's family requests that instead of sending flowers, please send donations to Haywood Christian Ministry, Samaritans Purse, or Beth Eden's Food Pantry, as that would bring Altha the most joy.
