He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Myrtle Edwards Newcomb; his daughter Beth; his parents, Bessie Newcomb and Jasper Newcomb; his parents-in-law, Gertrude and Fred Edwards; his daughter Katy Newcomb of Clayton, NC; his son-in-law Paul Hopfer of New Hill, NC; and his grandchildren, Edie, Allie and Thor Hopfer. He was also cherished by three sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
