He was predeceased by: his parents, Emil Hans Jacob Pfister and Rosly Furst Pfister; and his brother Max Pfister. He is survived by: his wife Christine Pfister of Matthews; his children, Melanie Pfister Howard (Jeff) and Walter Peter Pfister; his grandchildren, Jack Howard of Charlotte, Sophie Howard of Charlotte, Darcy Howard of Charlotte, Drew Howard of Charlotte, Lucy Howard of Charlotte and Ruby Howard of Charlotte; his brother Emil Pfister (Jodye) of Greenville, SC; his sister-in-law Patsy Pfister of Waxhaw, NC; and his nieces and nephews, Bill Pfister (Tricia), Dr. Robert Pfister (Lexie), Jeanne Baucom (Gary), Julie Brownfield (Scott) and Susan Cartwright (Ben).
