She was predeceased by: her parents, Ben Wilson Helms and Myrtle Ann Foster Helms; her husband Johnny Monroe Peninger; and her son George Kevin Peninger. She is survived by: her children, Johnny Keith Peninger (Sandy) and Carol Ann Thompson (David); and her siblings, Benny Helms (Cheryl), David Helms (Mae), Randy Helms and Polly Driggers (Robert). She is also survived by five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
