We bid farewell to Roy Herman Gleason of Waxhaw, North Carolina, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on January 7, 2025 at the age of 99. Roy Herman touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Herman Gleason and Florence Lucille Leet Gleason; his wife Edith Mae Baur Gleason; his son Robert Donald Gleason; and his brothers, Richard Paul Gleason and Kermit Gleason.
He is survived by: his daughters, Rebecca "Becky" Pius of Tallahessee and Barbara Marie Hilgendorf (Donald) of Lancaster, SC; his grandchildren, Jonathan Pius, Sarah Pius Wong (Ixhabi), Donald Robert Gleason (Audette), Edward Gleason (Angelle), Peter Hilgendorf and Daniel Hilgendorf; and his sister-in-law Bea Gleason. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:15 PM at the Mineral Springs Methodist Church (5915 Old Waxhaw-Monroe Rd, Monroe, NC 28112). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at the Waxhaw City Cemetery (111 Arbor Dr, Waxhaw, NC 28173).
