We are sad to announce that on November 30, 2024, at the age of 91, Marie Smith Demarest of Waxhaw, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, John Smith and Hazel Smith; her siblings, Ruth Metzler and William "Sonny" Smith; and her daughter Theresa Kiko.

She is survived by: her children, Linda Alfaro (Albert) of Plant City, FL, Jack Demarest (Karen) of Tobyhanna, PA, Bruce Demarest (Pam) of Monroe, NC and Deborah Swartz (Bob) of Waxhaw, NC; and her grandchildren, Tina Johnson (David) of Lakeland, FL, Micheal Alfaro (Nikki) of Waxhaw, NC, Rosa Veli (Anthony) of Oakland, NJ, Chris Conti (Larry) of Haskell, NJ, Ryan Demarest (Laura) of Bloomfield, IN, Kacey Gilmore (Vance) of Sumter, SC, Robert Swartz of Waxhaw, NC, Janis Gillespie (Daniel) of Troutman, NC, Debbie Kiko of Monroe and Nikki Kiko of Rockingham, NC. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and great grandchildren.
