She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Bigham and Bessie Coan Bigham; her husband Thomas Wade Broome; and her siblings, Allen Bigham, Archie Bigham, Baxter Bigham, Bill Bigham, David Bigham, Oscar Bigham, Otho Bigham, Rayburn Bigham, Vann Bigham, Evie Mae Manus and Myrtle Duckett.
She is survived by: her daughters, Wanda Goodwin (Sam) and Debra McKnight; her son-in-law Rodney; her grandchildren, Jennifer Knight (Chris), Lory Parker and Marcus Newell (Christy); her stepgrandchildren, Stephen Goodwin (Corinne) and Sally Goodwin; her great grandchildren, Johnathan Parker, Samantha West, Tyler Newell, Hannah Knight and Colin Newell; her stepgreat-grandchildren, Kathryn Goodwin and Jeb Goodwin; her great great grandchild Lilly; and her pet Precious. She is also survived by many nephews and nieces.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Emma Broome Benevolence Fund at Oakland Baptist Church, 600 East Sunset Drive, Monroe, NC 28112.
