With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Carolyn Dowd Blackman of Waxhaw, North Carolina, who passed away on December 7, 2021 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lacy Lee Dowd and Ruby McDonald Dowd; her husband Bill Blackman; and her brothers, Fred and Bobby Dowd.
She is survived by: her children, Cheryl Blackman Smith (Mark) of Lillington, Barry Wayne Blackman (Bonnie) of Waxhaw and Tommy Collins (Patsy) of Fayetteville; her grandchildren, Brittany Greer (David), Courtney Rogers (Ashley), Jonathan Blue (Kelsey), Zachery Doby, Ethan Doby, Erin Tatum and Bailey West; her great grandchildren, Mary Elliott Rogers, Anderson Rogers Jackson Blue, Bennett West and Mary Charles Tatum; her sister-in-law Willa Dowd of Sanford; and her stepsister Janice Thomas.
