He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Roger Avery and Lois Dean Johnson Avery; and his parents-in-law, Curtis and Myrtle Holder. He is survived by: his wife Mary Lillie Holder Avery; his children, Joy Avery Harman, Aubrey Curtis Avery (Susana) and Rhonda VanCleave (Robert); his grandchildren, Jhoselinne Meza (Ethan), Michael "Mikey" Avery, Zachary Harman, Elizabeth Harman and Adelyn Harman; his great grandchildren, Noah Meza and Elena Meza; and his siblings, Linda Sue Moore (Phil), Roger Avery, Gilbert Avery, Bobby Avery and Glenn Avery (Sheila). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
