With heavy hearts, we announce the death of William P. Mayo of Washington, North Carolina, born in Asheville, North Carolina, who passed away on October 17, 2020 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, John Augustus Mayo and Hattie Sawyer Mayo. He is survived by: his son William P. Mayo Jr. (Michele); his former wife Anna Ball Arthur; his wife Rosetta Ann Spencer Mayo; his daughter Anna Ball Mayo Orton (William); his grandchildren, Anna Lane Mayo and William Patrick Mayo III; and his pet Bentley.
