He was predeceased by: his parents, Delbert A. Cooper and Cora Mae Rutherford Cooper; his former wife Julia Ann Jones; his children, Billie Jo Gregory and Bobby Earl Cooper; and his stepson Michael Wayne Moore.
He is survived by: his wife Virginia Dare Keech; his children, Delbert Ray Cooper of Greenville and Georgia C. Scherer (Jeffrey) of Washington; his stepchildren, Robbie Dare Johnson of Arkansas, Emily Parker of Washington, Tammie R. Johnson of Washington and Lisa Bargelt (Leo) of Washington; and his siblings, Charles Cooper of Merrillville, Jerry Cooper (Shirley) of Arlington, Texas, Sandra Leschner (Albert) of Waco, Kathleen Leschner (Gordon) of Irving, Shirley Rosser (Ronald) of Midlothian and Carol Poehl (Ray) of Granbury. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
