He was predeceased by: his parents, Julias Howell Carawan and Olivia Williamson Carawan; and his wife Elna Jordan of Virginia. He is survived by: his children, Randy Joe Carawan, Sr. (Sylvia) of Pinetown, NC, Ricky Lane Carawan of Belhaven, NC, Debra Sue Adams of Bath and Elna Carawan Lewis (David) of Bath; his sister Gloria Carawan Guzman of Charlotte, NC; and his sister-in-law Jane Jordan Harris of Washington, NC. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
