She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward William Mooring and Kathleen Rouse Mooring. She is survived by: her siblings, Brooks Mooring, Edward Earl "Bud" Mooring and Lou Mooring Tripp; her husband James Marion Shirley; her children, Marty Shirley (Valerie) of Newport, Kim Shouse (Mark) of Morehead City and LeAnne Caldwell (Carl) of Clayton; her grandchildren, Brooks Clark, Sara Clark Ramirez (Tommy), Trey Shirley, Aaron Adams, Britney Shirley, Alex Shirley and Makenna Shirley; and her great grandchildren, James Matthew Clark, Jameson Blake Ramirez and Caedon Jeremiah Wilson.
