He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Tildon Brooks, Sr. and Sallie Elizabeth Jones Brooks; and his siblings, James Cox, Alice Manning, Mary Tyer, Hazel Jones, Velma Jordan, Ruth Alligood and Virginia Woolard.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Earlene Oliver; his children, Tildon Jones Brooks, Jr. (Teresa) of Fuquay Varina and Dawn Brooks Huettmann (Richard) of Washington; his brother Scott Clifton Brooks, Sr. of Washington; and his grandchildren, Brittany, Rodney, Darren, Emily, Kirsten, Megan and Emma.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made to Peace Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, WAC Fund or Children's Fund, 2480 West 5th Street, Washington, NC 27889.
