She is survived by: her husband John Davis "Jack" Mitchell, Jr.; her daughter Jackie Ellen Mitchell of Washington; her grandsons, Herbert Daniel May, Jr. of Washington and Jack Mitchell May of Washington; her sister Jean Hoggard Harrington of Nags Head; her sister-in-law Frances Griffin Hoggard of Raleigh; her parents-in-law, Judi Futrell (Al), Donald Mitchell (Terry), Toni Burkett (Aubrey) and Tammy Whaley (Kenneth); her nephew Sterling Parker; her caregiver Jennifer Walters; and her pet Oscar.
