He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Raymond Rumer, Sr. and Anna Hibbard Rumer; his daughter Sherri Rumer Cooper; and his former wife Shirley Louise Haynes. He is survived by: his wife Sallie Wallace Rumer; his sister Nancy Beaudry of Ft. Worth, TX; his children, Sandra Fiegl (Mark) of East Amherst, NY, Sue O'Donnell of Bloomsburg, PA, Sarah Brodeur (Dan) of Sugarloaf, PA, Salena Mulliken (Jeff), Shanna Corley (Jason) of New Bern, NC and Dr. Matthew Justice Kornegay, Jr. (Jamie) of Charleston, SC; his grandchildren, Austin Brodeur (Ewelina), Andrew Brodeur, Angi Cooper, Zia Cooper, Hannah Whitesides (Nick), Joshua Mulliken, Carey Corley, Sidney Corley, Justice Corley, Micah Kornegay, Josiah Kornegay, Isaac Kornegay and Abigail Kornegay; and his great grandchildren, Jacob Brodeur, Joseph Brodeur and Jonathan Brodeur.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Core Point FWB Chapel Building Fund.
