She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Clarence Collins and Lelia Mae Daniels Collins; her son Leonard Epes Brown III; and her sisters, Nancy Augburn, Betty Jo Bishop and Norma Draucker.
She is survived by: her husband Frank Stephen Merritt, Sr.; her daughter Kimberly Kinzie (Scott) of Chester, VA; her stepson Frank Merritt, Jr. (Tina) of Blacksburg, VA; and her siblings, Charles C. Collins, Jr. (Marie) of Long Beach, CA and Shirley Eichler of Colonial Heights, VA.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
