He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnnie Wimbush and Essie Ussery Wimbush; and his siblings, Effie Lou Wilfong, William, Willie, James, Clyde, Horace and Johnnie Lee Wimbush (JL).
He is survived by: his wife Bonnie; his children, Mae (Steven), Thomas (Gail), Raymond (Vashone), Randy (Robin), Jackie (Carrie) and Shawn (Shanta); his grandchildren, Amonte, Shayne, Lauren, Maya, Ramon, Deshata, Robert, Kayla, Alexander, Asia, Jackie Jr., Josh, Kaneisha, Essence and Shawn Jr.; his great grandchildren, Majora, McKenzie, Tasadriene, Gabriel, Khalise, Ahri, Reign and Cairo; and his sisters, Lessie Hart (Charles), Tessie Wimbush Dillingham and Jallie Wimbush. He is also survived by his sons, nephews, cousins and even some of his grandkids.
In 1976, Otis was part of the construction team that constructed the Washington Metropolitan Subway System and was part of the team that laid the cement foundation for the Washington Redskin stadium in Landover, MD.
