She was predeceased by: her brothers, Roland Downing, Mature Benston Jr, Rayvonne Dixon and Emanuel Benston; her sister-in-law Ruby Benston; and her daughter Jacqueline Benston Murphy.
She is survived by: her nephews, Marco and Erik Benston; her grandchild Zy'quandell Purvis; her great grandchild DaShaun Purvis; her children, Denise Benston Green (Stevie Green Sr.) of Washington, NC, Timothy Purvis (Leslie) of Colorado, Candy Purvis and Willie Earl Purvis Jr. of South Carolina; her grandchildren, Latoya Albritton (Donell), Damien Murphy, Te'Keyah Purvis, Larvell Spicer, Twinetavia Barnes, Stevie Lee Green, Sha (Purvis), Nadayza Barnes, Eniyjhal Purvis, Lateria Alexander, Jahmay Green, Jontavious Wilkerson and Laura Purvis; her great grandchildren, Alana Albritton, Ally Albritton, Ariah Keyes, Natavion Pope, Christeon Freeman, Gianna Willingham and Janayza Purvis; her siblings, Joseph Dixon (Frederick Benston), Terry Benston (Wayne Benston), Charlie Cratch of Washington, NC, Arthur Benston (Minister Linwood Benston), Mark Benston (Angie) of Jacksonville, FL., David Barrow (Charles Barrow), Henry Barrow of New York, Delores Benston of Raleigh, Barbara Barrow of New York and Diane Gibbs (Pal) of Washington; her daughter Allison Claire (Melvin); and her close friend Vanessa Dixon. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Before becoming"ill" in 2012 with Demitia/Alzheimer's disease Olar was family-oriented even through her seven year battle she remembered most of her FAMILY members until she departed life at Vidant Beaufort Hospital.
