She was predeceased by: her parents, Hal Ryland and Mary Martin "Mumsie" Tankard (Kugler); her brother Ryland Tankard; and her brother-in-law Henry Lee "Puz" Nicholls Jr.. She is survived by: her fiancés, Braun Woolard (Lee) of Washington, Mary Martin Moore (John) of Washington and George Asby (Kelsey Lopes) of Bear Grass; her grandchildren, Peyton Woolard, Hunter, MaryPage Moore, Carson (Belle) and Taylor Asby; her stepgrandsons, Trey Moore (Loralyn), Justin Moore (Stephanie) and Dylan Moore (Chelsea); her stepgreat-grandchildren, Parker, Rhett and Gatlin Moore; her siblings, Charlotte Kugler "Kay" Nicholls and Lee Tankard (Mary) of Bath; and her sister-in-law Dee Tankard. She is also survived by her children (and their spouses.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Joseph B. Paul Jr. Funeral Service (4500 US-264, Washington, NC 27889). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to one of the following which Mary held so close to her heart: The Humane Society, First Presbyterian Church Deacon Fund, First Presbyterian Church Methuselah Fund, Lights of Love, or The Service League of Greenville Hospice House.
