She was predeceased by: her parents, John Valentine Harrell and Alice Clark Harrell; her husband Herman "Ray" Briley; and her siblings, John Valentine Harrell, Jr., Fred Mack Harrell, Christine Fentress, Virginia Hudgins and Betty Jean Spence.
She is survived by: her daughters, Patricia Barnes (Glenn) of Washington and Stacey Briley Pack (John) of Washington; her grandchild Allison Barnes Jones (Benton) of Raleigh; and her great grandchild Harrison.
