She was predeceased by: her parents, Cleveland Lee Newell and Jessie Mae Kirby Newell; her former husband James C. Simpson, Sr.; her husband David C. Bundy, Jr.; and her siblings, Colleen Thomason, Geraldine Rusch, Jimmy Newell and Ralph Newell.
She is survived by: her children, Debbie Van Horn (Buddy) of Washington, NC and James C. Simpson, Jr. (Rhonda) of Elizabeth City, NC.; her grandsons, Jeremy Van Horn, Jason Van Horn, Derek Simpson (Tabitha) and Eric Simpson (Kendall); and her great grandchildren, Kennedi, Haddie, Palmer, James and Kannon.
