We are sad to announce that on January 21, 2020, at the age of 63, John Paul Clay (Washington, North Carolina), born in Portsmouth, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his father George Bernard Clay (Mary Ann Nobel). He is survived by: his wife Annette "Wendi" Clay; his children, Melissa Jo Clay and Michael Jason Ireland (April); his mother Mary Ann Clay; his siblings, Michael Clay and Helen "Cookie" Burkhalter (Kurt); his grandchildren, Jason, Bryson and Caroline; his nephew Michael Burkhalter; and his great-niece Eleanor Burkhalter. He is also survived by many other nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to the Spring Garden Baptist Church Building Fund or a local animal rescue organization.
