Cox, Jr. and Martha Elizabeth Gaylord Thompson (William "Bill") of Grimesland; his children, Maria Cox of Raleigh and Joshua Cox of Raleigh; his brother Don Cox of Belhaven; his granddaughter Skylee Cox of Raleigh; and his niece Brianna Cox of Belhaven. He was also cherished by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
