He was predeceased by: his parents, John A. Ratcliffe, Jr. and Swannie Mae Wade Ratcliffe; and his sister Harriette Ratcliffe Finch. He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Ann Keech; his sons, John Scott Ratcliffe (Amy) of South Mills and Eric Todd Ratcliffe (Tani Shae) of Greenville; his sister Nancy Ratcliffe Fischer of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; and his grandchildren, Ashton, Wade, Alex and Samuel Ratcliffe. He is also survived by his wife, children, grandchildren.
