He was predeceased by: his parents, Lynal Gordon Mitchell and Eva Lilly Mitchell; and his sisters, Carrie Harding, Rosa Wiggins and Eva Mae Golden.
He is survived by: his children, Teresa West of Chocowinity, Emily Scott (Blake) of Washington, Britt Mitchell (Von) of Chocowinity, Bobby Mitchell (Cissy) of Chocowinity and Eva Buck (Dalton) of Washington; and his brothers, Melvin Mitchell (Angie) of Reelsboro and Dennis Mitchell (Carolyn) of Vanceboro. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren.
