He was predeceased by: his children, Gene Gaskins, Jacqueline Chapman, Jackie L. Gaskins Jr. and Carole Lynn Craddock; his brother Edgar Gaskins; and his parents, Edna Robinson and Carsley Gaskins.
He is survived by: his wife Shyrell Gaskins; his son Ike Gaskins; and his brothers, John and Joe Gaskins. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren.
