She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Hunter Modlin and Catherine Harris Modlin; and her children, Augusta Williamson, Della Godley and Dwain Waters.
She is survived by: her daughter Rebecca Cowen (Charles) of Washington, NC; and her sister Joyce Stokesberry of Chocowinity, NC. She is also survived by eight grandchildren.
