We are sad to announce that on February 16, 2020, at the age of 97, Gladys Dixon Winstead (Washington, North Carolina), born in Beaufort, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James Hyman Dixon and Hattie Hill Dixon; and her husband John "Johnny" William Winstead, Sr.. She is survived by: her children, Nelda Murphy of Parkville, MD, John Winstead, Jr. (Rebecca) of Broken Arrow, OK and Charles Winstead (Kim) of Winterville; her grandchildren, Kym Murphy, Krista Jarvis, Mark Murphy, Trae Winstead, Nathan Winstead, Amber Winstead, Johnathan Winstead (Melissa) and Patrick Winstead (Susan); her sisters, Elizabeth Respess of Pantego, Dorcas Swain and Shirley Elks of Chocowinity; and her sister-in-law Eva Jean Dixon of Chocowinity. She is also survived by 15 great grandchildren.
