He was predeceased by: his parents, Leon Thomas Evett and Emma Padgett Evett. He is survived by: his wife Alma S. Evett; his son Gilbert Evett, Jr. (Renee) of Wilson; and his stepchildren, Jim House (Carol) of Raleigh, Dana Luciani (Vince) of Charlotte and Stephen Goadhouse (Ursula) of Crozet, VA. He is also survived by ten grandchildren.
