He was predeceased by: his parents, Ellis Edward Woolard, Sr. and Lillie Bell Woolard; his sisters, Neva Pearl and Rachael Woolard; and his nephew Collins Paul Etheridge.
He is survived by: his wife Teresa Knox; his children, David Wayne Woolard (Wendy), Toni Renee Woolard and Valerie Rawls Verdin (Jose); his mother-in-law Peggy Ross; his siblings, Rodman Frayle Woolard (Diana), Ellis Edward "Bill" Woolard, Jr. (Linda), Annie Ruth Cullipher (Gene) and Martha Jane Gurganus (Dwayne); his sister-in-law Ann Knox; and his grandchildren, Gabriel "Gabe" Jayden Purcella, Haley Quinn Woolard, Caleb Matthew Woolard and Mariah Grace Verdin. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
