She was predeceased by: her husband Edmund Tayloe Buckman, Jr.; her parents, Clarence Bennett Carowan and Gladys Judkins Carowan; her siblings, Clarence, Glenn, Adrian Carowan and Zalia Carowan Fowler; and her in-laws, Josephine and Edmund Buckman.
She is survived by: her children, Josephine Buckman Vause (Bobby) and Edmund Tayloe "Buck" Buckman, III (Vickie); her grandchildren, Lee Carmi Winters, Jr., Mary McLemore Capener (Cape), Etta Elizabeth Buckman (Robert) and Edmund Tayloe Buckman IV (Virginia); her great grandchildren, Robert Heaton Capener, Eleanor Etta Capener (Elle), Sarah Ellis Winters (Sallie), Robert Edgar Long IV (Bobby), Georgetta West Long and Virginia Catherine Buckman; and her caregivers, Florence Lodge, Delena Branch, Sylvia Guilford, Vernice Hawkins, JoAnn Foreman, Malika Foreman and Lena Bailey. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
