He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Armstead Sheppard, Sr. and Emily Elizabeth Woolard; his siblings, Donald Ray Sheppard, Juanita Gray Sheppard and Ann Sheppard Brooks; and his nephews, Lester Brooks and Reggie Brooks.
He is survived by: his children, Nicky Curlings (Kenny) of Blounts Creek, Lisa Sheppard of Washington and Ernest Sheppard of Chocowinity; his former wife Kathryn Sheppard (Kay); his grandchildren, Emily Sheppard, Darion Curlings, Taylor Curlings, Colby Curlings, Ashlynne Martin and Ridge Hodges; his nieces, Evelyn Tetterton, Elizabeth Beacham and Trudy Paramore; and his nephew Bud Brooks.
