Edith S. Gibbs Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edith S. Gibbs of Washington, North Carolina, who passed away on February 19, 2024, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Richard Bernard Sawyer and Alice Virginia Sawyer Gibbs; her sons, Jeffery Warren Carawan and Jeff Carawan; and her sister Dorothy Sawyer Equils.
She is survived by: her husband David I. Gibbs; her daughters, Vickie Williams of Washington and Lisa Carawan of Washington; and her grandchildren, Jessica Leigh Modlin, Brett Carawan, Jarett Pittman, Samantha Decker, Amanda Decker, Brian Gibbs, Danielle Carawan, John Williams, Brittany Gibbs and Joseph Gibbs.
In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks for memorial contributions be made to Marion Shepard Cancer Center, 1209 Brown Street, Washington, NC 27889.
