It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dot W. Moate of Washington, North Carolina, who passed away on May 31, 2022, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Dot W. Moate to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her parents, John Hyman Warren and Mamie Harrison Warren; her former husband Philip Andrew Wilcox; her spouse Sydney Harrison Moate; and her siblings, Kenneth Warren, Nodie Belle Staley, Nancy Irene Hudak, Gladys Mildred Alligood and Brenda Joyce Peele.

She is survived by: her children, Scott Wilcox (Jaqui) of Woodland, WA and Sharon Wilcox of Tigard, OR; her granddaughters, Tiffany Wilcox Waybright (Colin), Megan Wilcox and Kailey Wilcox; her sisters, Jean Woolard of Washington and Rita Whitman of Washington; and her nieces and nephews, Elaine Briley, Cathy Windley, Maxilyn Elks, Delores Spraker, Alice Wingate, John Robert Peele, Greg Peele, Candace Peele, Carol Pisarski, Dale Hudak, Leigh Staelin, Susan Aikens, Brent Robinson and Chad Robinson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, Ruth's House, Open Door Community Center, or Little Washington Sailing School.
