She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Hughes and Annie Lou Bass Hughes of Clinton, NC.; her husband John "Johnny" Marvin Houston, Jr.; and her siblings, Ruby Davis, Edna Yancey and Jimmy Hughes.
She is survived by: her grandchild Bailie Ann; her daughters, Kim Moore of Warsaw, Kelly Houston of Wilmington, Kay Williams (Wayne) of Seven Springs and Kathy Daughtry (Mark) of Clinton; her grandchildren, Derek Cooper, Mitchell Cooper, Christopher Cooper, Jimmy Johnson, Cole King, Bailie Ann Warren and Jose; her great grandchildren, Ava Chavez, Mila Dominguez and Evie Dominguez; and her brother J. C. Hughes (Jean). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
