She was predeceased by: her parents, Clinton Rouse and Hazel Rouse; her brothers, Sonny Rouse and Mike Rouse; her mother-in-law Mary Costin; and her sister-in-law Gloria Piner.
She is survived by: her husband Pepsi Merritt of Warsaw; her children, Jeff Merritt (Karen) of Surf City, Tracy Merritt (Lorrie Kester) of Goldsboro and April Sprague of Kenansville; her sister Judy Brown (Guthrie) of Richlands, NC; her sisters-in-law, Mary Harrell (Bud) of Warsaw, Peggy Rouse of Kinston and Gloria Richardson of Wilmington; her grandchildren, Lauren, Cameron Smith, Logan Merritt, Billy Gonzalez, Merritt Long, Walker Long, Katie, Zach Davidson, John Merritt and Kristin Merritt; and her great grandchildren, Shepherd and Sunny Davidson. She is also survived by her family, her church, and her friends.
