He was predeceased by: his parents, Fayette Batts and Margaret Wilson Batts; and his daughter Daryn Batts Edwards. He is survived by: his wife Linda Clifton Batts; his son Derek Batts (Ashley) of Apex; his siblings, Ronnie Batts (Ann) of Kenansville and Cynthia Markham (Johnny) of Greensboro; and his grandchildren, Caitlin Edwards, Colby and Lexi Trantham. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
