He was predeceased by: his father John Sommers Ashley, Sr.; his stepfather James Lloyd Mitchell; and his sister Betty Louise Ashley. He is survived by: his wife Maxine Miller Ashley; his daughter Anita Ashley Hayes (Raymond); his grandson Ezekiel Hayes of North Wilkesboro; his son Jeff (Melissa Price Ashley); and his grandson John Mitchell Ashley of Warrensville. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
